BACH FLOWER REMEDIES
.........................................................

The thirty-eight Flower Remedies discovered by Dr. Edward Bach in England in the 1930’s represent a complete system of healing directed entirely at the personality, mood and emotional outlook. They are prescribed after a counseling session to understand the root cause of personality, temperament, or state of mind. Dr. Bach believed consideration of these aspects of a person’s nature to be of utmost importance in curing a person because he found, through his careful study and research, that disharmony within oneself was the root cause of disease.

The mind and body are closely linked. They have their own natural healing processes. The Bach Remedies are a gentle means of restoring peace of mind and thus allow the body, and the being as a whole, a chance to regain their innate strength and ability to combat ill-health through their own natural healing processes. These remedies can also be used at times of anxiety and stress to prevent them from developing into increased problems of the mind and body.

The Bach Flower Remedies help release our worries, fear, depression and other emotional imbalances, such as phobias, lack of confidence, anger, hatred, anxiety, panic attacks, intolerance, impatience, lack of motivation, procrastination, restlessness, guilt, self-pity, rigidity, loneliness, obsessive ness, and absent mindedness.

Each remedy works on specific negative emotions. For example:
• Agrimony for mental torture and worry concealed from others
• Aspen for vague fears of unknown origin
• Centaury for being too easily influenced by others
• Cerato for foolishness
• Chicory for self pity
• Pine for feelings of guilt
• Rock Water for being harsh on one self

The remedies (except Rock Water) are prepared from the flowers of wild plants, bushes or trees. None of them is harmful or habit forming. They can be taken with any other kind of medicine with absolute safety.
Being extracted from flowers, plants, trees and bushes, and natural spring water, they are natural and harmless. They are completely safe, have no unwanted side effects and are non-addictive. The remedies are gentle in action and can be safely taken by all ages from new-born babies to elderly people. They can be used safely even during pregnancy to ease the process of child birth and also used for post-natal depression. The remedies are also beneficial for animals and plants.

“Health depends on being in harmony with our souls.”
“Treat the person and not the disease; the cause and not the effect.”

These remedies were discovered by Dr. Edward Bach in England in the 1930’s, and have since given enormous relief to sufferers worldwide.

Today, these safe, gentle remedies are used worldwide by medical and complementary health practitioners, psychotherapists, counselors, vets, dentists and healers. Over the years the Bach Center at Mount Vernon in England has received thousands of testimonials from patients and practitioners vouching for their effectiveness.

Dr. Bach was a brilliant physician trained in the allopathic, homeopathic, pathology and bacteriology systems of medicine. He believed, as many doctors do today, that attitude of mind plays a vital role in maintaining health and recovering from illness.
He used his training, experience, research, intuition and most of all his compassion to discover a complete system of healing, the remarkable work of a life-time.

How do the Bach Remedies work / How do the Bach Remedies support combating of physical illness / Bach Flower Remedies and physical illness
These flower remedies, like other forms of natural medicine, take effect by treating the individual, not the disease or it’s symptoms. They work specifically on the emotional condition of the person concerned. Thus two people with the same complaint, e.g. arthritis, may benefit from quite different remedies. One may be resigned to the illness, while the other may be impatient with it, so different remedies will be appropriate in each case.

Palliative treatment may be required to control the physical effect of a stomach ulcer, for example, but complete healing will not be achieved unless the worry that caused it in the first place is not dealt with.

The effect of taking the remedies is not to suppress negative attitudes but to transform them into positive ones, stimulating one’s own potential for self-healing and freeing the physical system to engage fully in fighting disease and stress.

People do not have to be physically ill to benefit from the remedies. Many of us go through times of difficulty and fatigue when negativity creeps in; at these times the remedies are invaluable in restoring the balance before physical symptoms appear.

It is important that they are not included as a substitute for medical treatment; should symptoms persist, one is advised to consult the medical practitioner.
